Our First Home

It blows me away how quickly the years seem to fly on by. Seems like just a couple weeks ago, my family and I were ringing in the new year. Now, we are pulling out our summer clothes!

If you are anything like me, you may have made a few resolutions back in January that stuck, some that stuck temporarily, and some that you can't even remember any more. Funny how that works. The main thing however is to keep moving forward.

Life is a series of events, memories, special moments, tragedies, disappointments, achievements, etc. It's been said that it doesn't matter what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you that defines who you are. I believe this wholeheartedly.

For example, my family and I are in the process of selling our home of 8 years and buying a bigger home that fits us better. We are currently crammed into a 1,400 sq foot house, and with 8 of us in the house, I'd say we outgrew our home a while ago. Our new home is more than twice the size of the current home, and we couldn't be happier.

Well, some of us, anyway. Others, such as myself, have mixed emotions about leaving the house that we've called home for so many years.

For me, becoming a homeowner was no easy task. Just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong within my escrow. A lot was circumstantial and not really avoidable. However, I came out on the other side of a 100+ day escrow as a single mother with 5 children who was also a proud homeowner! I couldn't have been happier. It's actually the very reason I got into this business myself...I wanted to be a part of helping others to know that feeling, no matter how tough their situation may be.

Fast forward 8 years later, and as I pull up to my home, it has a For Sale sign in front with my face on the sign. I miss so much about my home already. From the sound of the frogs croaking loudly at night to the cows mooing across the road in the pasture to the awesome bonfires I enjoy with my loved ones; I'll miss it all. And I know our new home will be full of love and laughter, just as our current home is. We'll just be more comfortable. And at the end of the day, the love and laughter are the only things that matter.

How about you? How long have you been in your current home? How would you feel about making a move yourself? I'm sure I can't be alone in this. I'd love to hear your stories! Call me at 916-871-8132, or simply reply to this email.

With Love,

Mitzi
